Abstract |

The purpose of this project work is to study the material behavior in backward extrusion. The parameters considered for the process are Die corner radius, Co-efficient of friction, Ram velocity. Initial billet temperature (480), die land length (5mm) and die angle (30º) will be kept constant. The die corner radius (0.3,0.4,0.5) mm, Co-efficient of friction (0.1,0.15,0.2) and Ram velocity (1,2,3) mm-s, were varied in this project. Total 27 iterations were carried out and optimized values were obtained. Design was done using SOLID EDGE V19 and the simulation and analysis was carried out using AFDEX software. |
