Abstract |

The automotive industry is investing more time and money to develop better vehicle safety systems. They aim to improve passenger safety in the car. Newer devices are being employed to decrease the effect transferred to the passenger in case of a collision. Our project is going to discuss about one such device. We will identify different materials and designs to achieve this while keeping the cost to a minimum. The main aspect of the research has been to find the optimal evolution of kinetic energy during a front impact. We will present an idea of the device for a light motor vehicle. Such that it can be fixed in front of the car to decrease the effect passed on to the chassis hence increase occupant safety in case of a collision. |
