In recent years remote sensing and Geographical Information System have gained importance as vital tools in the analysis of temporal data at the district and city level. This paper evaluates the effectiveness of high resolution satellite data and computer aided GIS technique in assessing land use/ land cover change detection in Coimbatore District for the period 2014 to 2018. The assessment of the land use and land cover changes in the Coimbatore District for half decay. Landsat images of 2014 and 2018 were analysed using Erdas Imagine Software and Q-GIS. |
