Abstract |

The huge use of wireless devices nowadays has many limitation of consumption of provided radio spectrum which is costly and precious resource. Recent studies over a radio spectrum including revenue rich municipal areas, shows that some part of frequency bands in the spectrum are many times generally unused, some other frequency bands are partly engaged and the remaining left over frequency bands are comprehensively used. This method of an under- utilization of radio spectrum, this imbalance of radio spectrum allocation is lessened by the Cognitive Radio. Cognitive Radio is state of the art technology which gives a solution to improve utilization of accessible electromagnetic spectrum systematically. Spectrum identifying assist to observe the spectrum holes (underutilized bands of the spectrum) providing high spectral resolution capability. We are investigating the way of simulating a cognitive radio system to recover locally unused spectrum to improve the total system capacity. This work focuses on the practical execution of a Cognitive radio system using raspberry pi. |
