Abstract |
|
Soft storey is a very common feature in the designing of multi-storey building construction throughout the urban area. Though multi-storeyed buildings with soft storey are higly vulnerable to seismic forces, their construction is quite common in modern India. Sometimes, we need space at ground floor level to fulfill social and functional needs. Generally, it is done by providing stilt floor. Presence of highly advanced computers and softwares make the complex problem of analysis and design problem easy. In this paper, we will investigates the seismic behavior of soft storey building, subjected to static and dynamic loading with different arrangements. It has been observed that earlier that provision of infill improves the resistant behaviour of the structure as compared to the conditions when soft storey is provided. |
