Abstract |
|
Composite bar made of E-Glass/ Epoxy manufactured by Pultrusion process is subjected to torsional loading. Mechanical properties such as, Young Modulus along longitudinal and transverse direction, Poisson's ratio and Shear modulus were determined experimentally using computerised UTM. The static characteristics of metallic (AISI 4310) and composite bar determined experimentally, on a horizontal torsion test rig, are compared with numerical analysis. The shear stress, stiffness and modulus of rigidity values of the tested composite bars obtained numerically are compared with the theoretical values. The results of the numerically and theoretically studies are compared and it is found that; the experimental results and numerical results are very close to each other. |
