Abstract

The ancient science of Ayurveda offers extensive knowledge on disease diagnosis and herbal formulations, yet accessing this information remains challenging for students and practitioners due to the vast and unstructured nature of classical texts. This paper presents Codeved, a web-based software that bridges traditional Ayurvedic knowledge with modern digital technology. The system assists students and practitioners in identifying suitable Ayurvedic medicines and formulations for specific diseases by analyzing patient attributes such as symptoms, prakriti (body constitution), age, gender, season, and physical characteristics. The platform uses a structured MySQL database built upon data extracted from Charaka Samhita, Sushruta Samhita, and consultations with Ayurvedic experts. Implemented using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, jQuery AJAX, and the Medoo framework, Codeved provides modules for disease and medicine search, prakriti identification, diagnosis, and blog sharing. Testing with over 50 users demonstrated positive responses regarding ease of use and accuracy. The system effectively supports students in diagnosing conditions and finding appropriate formulations while maintaining the authenticity of classical Ayurvedic literature.
