Abstract |
|
This research explores the utilization and applicability of braced tube structures as a viable structural form for tall buildings in India. India, known for its seismic activity and burgeoning urban development, presents a unique set of challenges and opportunities in the realm of tall building construction. With rapidly growing urbanization and the need for sustainable and efficient tall structures, choosing an appropriate structural system is crucial. Braced-tube structural systems, emerging in the 20th century, have become an anchor in the construction of tall buildings, offering exceptional effectiveness in supporting lateral loads as well as gravitational loads. This study highlights the advantages of Braced-tube Structure in terms of Storey Displacement, Drift Ratio, Inter-storey drift, Storey Shear, Base Shear, and cost-effectiveness. Through a comprehensive analysis of the structural and economic aspects, this research aims to offer valuable insights to architects, engineers, and stakeholders involved in tall building projects. By weighing the advantages of braced tube structures against conventional construction methods, this study contributes to informed decision-making and sustainable urban development practices. |
