Abstract |
|
The Cellular Tracker signifies an advancement in embedded systems used within industrial settings for supply chain management. It integrates three fundamental technologies—QR Code Decoding, Global Positioning System (GPS), and Cellular Network capabilities—into a unified system. Traditional devices often face cost and reliance challenges, especially concerning GPS and cellular functionalities. In this system, a scanned QR code promptly links with current GPS coordinates and transmits data via an LTE module to a remote cloud. This transmitted data provides real-time supply chain status on a web platform, ensuring operational transparency. In scenarios with poor network connectivity, data is stored locally and sent once connectivity is restored. The device enters a low-power mode after a defined period of inactivity. This integration, termed the Cellular Tracker—a QR Code Scanner with GPS and LTE capabilities—represents a practical, cost-effective, and energy-efficient solution compared to previous approaches in this domain. |
