Abstract

All the companies have their own robust system in place for the HSE Inspection of Individual systems like Electrical Equipment, Portable Tools, Mechanical Equipment like Cranes, Man lift, etc., Tools & Tackles, Fire Extinguishers, Hygiene, Personal Protective Equipment, etc. However the outcome of the same cannot be portrayed to Management as these parameters are standalone documents. The need for the review of Management in these issues where they have a major impact on the Project and Business Risk plays an important role. The combination of all these parameters into a single score will give a brief outcome and an overall picture to the Management and the topic score shall also give an idea where the project team is lacking and to take appropriate measures to overcome the issues thereby to increase the score in those areas. Based on the HSE topics and parameters involved, the score can be obtained which gives overall HSE status of the Business Project. Therefore this Phase I of the Project deals with the study of existing HSE practices at LTC – Transportation Infrastructure (Eastern Dedicated Fright corridor Railway Project-CP-303) and to create & implement the “HSE Project Safety Index” in their project.
