Active Islanding Detection Technique for Current Controlled Inverter in Distributed Generation
-Shubham Atram ; Hitesh Murkute; Yogesh Likhar; R.M.Bhombe
The Goal Islanding occurs when a portion of distributed power system becomes electrically isolated from the rest of the power system yet continues to be energized by distributed generators. All such occurrences are needed to be detected as early as possible in order to safely shut down the distributed generators. This is because, continued operation of these generators under islanding can lead to multitude of operational hazards/challenges to the generators and to connected loads. The current industry practice is to disconnect all distributed generators immediately after the occurrence of islands. Typically, a distributed generator should be disconnected within 100 to 300 ms after loss of main supply. To achieve such a goal, each distributed generator must be equipped with an islanding detection device, which is also called anti islanding devices. In this study, an active islanding detection technique is proposed for grid connected inverters. Feasibility of the proposed technique. Proposed project run on MATLAB 2016 Simulink environment. -Suyash Sawant ; Prathmesh Pawar; Rutva Patel; Suman Parui; Prof. Jyoti Dange
The swift progress of the applications of NLP (Natural Language Processing) techniques particularly in the domain of semantic similarity are quite beneficial for the detection of 'fake news', that is, dishonest news stories that comes from the non-reputable sources. Therefore, to tackle this problem by building a model supported a count vectorizer (using word tallies) or a (Term Frequency Inverse Document Frequency) TFIDF matrix, (word tallies relative to however usually they're employed in different articles in your dataset) which will solely get you thus so far. However, these models don't think about the necessary qualities like word ordering and context. It's completely feasible that 2 articles which are similar in their word count are going to be fully totally different in their actual definition. The information science community has responded by taking actions against the matter and also took initiatives like there's a Kaggle competition referred to as because the “Fake News Challenge†and Facebook is using AI to filter faux news stories out of users' feeds. Combatting the faux news may be a classic text classification project with an uncomplicated proposition. So, it is doable for us to create a model that may differentiate between “Real “news and “Fake†news? thus, a planned work on collecting a dataset to train the model to understand context of sentences which can in turn predict faux and real news. Sea Water Distillation by Solar Energy and Steam Power Generation
-Prajakta Anandrao Patil ; Mr. Shivam Anil Pawar; Ms. Pratibha Jagannath Desai ; Ms. Priyanka Hindurao Panaskar
Humans cannot drink saline water. But, saline water can be made into freshwater. But, fresh water can be in short supply in some parts of the country. And, as the population continues to grow, shortages of fresh water will occur more often, if only in certain locations. The seawater distillation is the process of separation of salts from seawater .In that water is converted into a steam by using solar energy concentration. By using steam which is produced under high temperature impacts on the blades of steam turbines which results generation of electricity. The distillation of seawater is obtained by utilizing a thermal energy source. Water is heated and producing water vapors that in turn condenses to form distilled water. Our aim is to accomplish this goal by utilizing and converting the incoming radioactive power of the sun's rays to heat and distill dirty and undrinkable water, converting it into steam and after that steam is converted into clean drinkable water. A solar parabolic trough is utilized to effectively concentrate and increase the solid angle of incoming beam radiation, increasing the efficiency of the system and enabling higher water temperatures to be achieved. Nowadays, In order to create an economic measure of the direct and indirect effects of crime, it is necessary to consider the effects of crime on victims. Major research interest in the effects of crime on victims started in the 1970s-1980s, spurred by the adoption of victimisation surveys of the general population to measure the amount of crime communication. It affects the human life very badly. The effects of crime on victims (both individuals and corporate entities) are multiple. In contrast to the effects of accidental injury or disease, research on the effects of crime has stressed mental, psychological and social effects, compared to physical or financial effects. Indeed, some have suggested that being the victim of crime is qualitatively different from being the victim of an accident or disease, because it includes someone deliberately or recklessly harming you. It's often found that the victim most of times avoid filing the complaint against the criminal. To overcome this problem we have propose online complaint register system which is based on QR code And DES encryption algorithm. This system will not only hide the identity of victim. But also secures the data sent to police department in the form QR Code. Information sent cannot be hacked by any third person. System has many functionalities like tracking our complaint, auto route the complaint to collector office if the complaint is not resolved within 15 days and even if no resolution found within 30 days then send the complaint to CM office. A Review on Bioplastics: Applications and Current Scenario
-Patil VN ; Landage AB
The objective of this briefing paper is to provide a concise summary of some of the key issues surrounding the biodegradability of plastics in the oceans, and whether the adoption of biodegradable plastics will reduce the impact of marine plastics overall. One of the principal properties sought of many plastics is durability. This allows plastics to be used for many applications which formerly relied on stone, metal, concrete or timber. There are significant advantages, for food preservation, medical produce, electrical safety, improved thermal insulation and to lower fuel consumption in air craft and automotive. Unfortunately, the poor management of post-use plastic means that the durability of plastic becomes a significant problem in mitigating its impact on the environment. Plastics are ubiquitous in the oceans as a result of several decades of poor waste management, influenced by a failure to appreciate the potential value of ‘unwanted’ plastics, the under use of market-based instruments (MBIs), and a lack of concern for the consequences (GESAMP 2015). Present paper discusses current scenario in the use and research going in the field of bio degradable plastic. Read More...

Renewable, Pollution Free, Clean Charging Station Development for Electrical Vehicles
-Jay Narendra Patil ; Ketan Gangadhar Parbat; Vinay Sanjay Brahmane; Ashutosh Shantaram Parbat
In today’s world, fossil fuel is the main power source as it provides energy for automobiles, airplanes, and it is also used to produce electricity. However, fossil fuel cause environment problem by emitting C02 into atmosphere when producing energy, which eventually leads to global warming. For example in 2012, vehicles have contributed for 34.3% of worlds energy-related CO2. This shows that there is a need to change in vehicle system to reduce the pollution to the environment. While electric vehicles are generally seen as clean vehicles, they are not completely clean because the production of electricity might generate emissions as well. This paper on a multifunctional solar charging station is a working solution to close the gap in achieving a truly renewable and clean vehicle. In order to solve this problem, there are two paths: first, through designs which consume less energy and improve fuel efficiency; second through usage of alternative energy with storage such as hydrogen or battery. Recently, in the field of automobiles, many companies have developed commercially available electric cars that consume alternative fuels. Nevertheless an electric car or electric vehicle is only as clean as the primary energy used to power it. That means we also have to look at clean electricity generation if we want to improve the traffic based air pollution with electric vehicles. Read More...

Biometric Authentication
-Shinju Kelotj ; Aishwarya Swamy
Over the last few years a new area of engineering science has been established whose products are likely to create a large market in the near future. It has been called "biometrics". The pioneers of this new domain intend to construct devices which would allow identification of a person on the basis of his/her "biological" characteristics: voice, dynamics of movements, features of face and other parts of the body, retina or iris pattern. Nature has made human beings with different characteristics which may vary from one person to another. This property is made use of by Biometric technology to distinctly identify each person Biometric system is essentially a pattern recognition system which recognizes a user by determining the authenticity of a specific physiological or behavioral characteristic possessed by the user. Several important issues must be considered in designing a practical biometric system. First, a user must be enrolled in the system so that his biometric template can be captured. This template is securely stored in a central database or a smart card issued to the user. The template is retrieved when an individual needs to be identified. Depending on the context, a biometric system can operate either in a verification (authentication) or an identification mode. Biometrics refers to the automatic identification of a person based on his/her physiological or behavioral characteristics. This method of identification offers several advantages over traditional methods involving ID cards (tokens) or PIN numbers (passwords) for various reasons: (i) the person to be identified is required to be physically present at the point-of-identification; (ii) identification based on biometric techniques obviates the need to remember a password or carry a token. With the increased integration of computers and Internet into our everyday lives, it is necessary to protect sensitive and personal data. By replacing PINs (or using biometrics in addition to PINs), biometric techniques can potentially prevent unauthorized access to ATMs, cellular phones, laptops, and computer networks. Unlike biometric traits, PINs or passwords may be forgotten, and tokens like passports and driver's licenses may be forged, stolen, or lost. Read More...

The aim of development of this project is towards providing efficient and simple method for control speed of DC motor using PWM technique. The modulation of pulse width is obtained using scimit trigger and rectifier. There are several method for controlling the speed of DC motors. One simple method is to add series resistance using rheostat. As considerable power is consumed in the rheostat, this method is not economical. Another method is to use a series switch that can be closed or opened rapidly. This type of control is termed as chopper control. The PWM based circuit smoothy control the speed of general purpose DC motor. To get desired modulation of pulse width as output, we have used schimit trigger and rectifier within regulator as the source of varying output. Read More...

Reverse Engineering on Drone
-Abhishek ; Chetan Ganachari; Gokul Saikia; Jintujit Ray; Shashikanth G S
The increasing use of civil unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) has the potential to threaten public safety and privacy. Therefore, airspace administrators urgently need an effective method to regulate UAVs. Understanding the meaning and format of UAV flight control commands by automatic protocol reverse-engineering techniques is highly beneficial to UAV regulation. To improve our understanding of the meaning and format of UAV flight control commands, this paper proposes a method to automatically analyze the private flight control protocols of UAVs. First, we classify flight control commands collected from a binary network trace into clusters; then, we analyze the meaning of flight control commands by the accumulated error of each cluster; next, we extract the binary format of commands and infer field semantics in these commands; and finally, we infer the location of the check field in command and the generator polynomial matrix. The proposed approach is validated via experiments on a widely used consumer UAV. Read More...

Intelligent Face Recognition Attendance System
-Prithviraj ; Asif; Suhasini; Ashok Bawge
Face recognition from image or video is a popular topic in biometrics research. The human face is one of the natural traits that can uniquely identify an individual. Therefore, it is used to trace identity as the possibilities for a face to deviate or being duplicated is low. In this paper we propose an automated attendance management system. The main purpose of this project is to build a face recognition-based attendance monitoring system for educational institution to enhance and upgrade the current attendance system into more efficient and effective as compared to before. The current old system has a lot of ambiguity that caused inaccurate and inefficient of attendance taking. Many problems arise when the authority is unable to enforce the regulation that exist in the old system. In this project, face databases will be created to pump data into the recognizer algorithm. Then, during the attendance taking session, faces will be compared against the database to seek for identity. When an individual is identified, its attendance will be taken down automatically saving necessary information into a excel sheet. At the end of the day, the excel sheet containing attendance information regarding all individuals are mailed to the respective faculty. Read More...

A Study on Performance of Flat Plate Solar Collector with Different Absorber
-Md Parwez Kalam ; Dr. Sohail Bux
An evacuated flat plate solar thermal collector contains a flat absorber plate containing an evacuated enclosure with a top glass cover. An array of pins supports the glass cover against atmospheric pressure loading. Such collectors can achieve high operational temperatures suitable for many industrial applications and also operate efficiently in low irradiance conditions. Flat thermal solar collectors traditionally use a serpentine tube glued or fixed to a conductive absorption plate with an electrically spectral black coating. Efficiency losses due to temperature changes in the plate can be minimized by using a high conductivity material, such as copper, and making it thick enough to achieve high fin efficiency. The main objective of the present work to enhance heat transfer rate by changing the design of the absorber flat plate and compare the various results obtained from computational fluid dynamics analysis on all designs. In the present work, computational fluid dynamics analysis has been performed for six designs of absorber plate of evacuated flat plate collector to check the temperature distribution and heat generation for better thermal performance, flow variables such as velocity, enthalpy, entropy, etc. Read More...

-Sachin Gajanan Chopade ; Dr. A. R. Gupta
The goal of the study is to analyses the setback constructing for stability and seismic forces. Setback constructing design and analyses such structure with keen observation thinking about different factors affecting them. As it is once more essential to analyses such shape for important forces like earthquake. Preserving this in thoughts, on this undertaking the take a look at is performed for finding out the end result that makes setback building stable towards forces performing on it with and without thinking about seismic forces. Setback buildings are a subset of vertically irregular homes in which there are discontinuities with admire to geometry. However, geometric irregularity additionally introduces discontinuity inside the distribution of mass, stiffness and strength along the vertical path. Majority of the studies on setback homes have centered on the elastic response. The conduct of those sorts of constructing is something one of a kind. There may be a want of more paintings to be achieved in this regard. So this research work is an attempt to reach on more accurate end to reduce earthquake impact on the structure. Read More...

-Mr. Vinayak Madan Deokar ; Prof. Ajinkya G Kuhire
An accurate estimation of temperature distribution is considered necessary to avoid the premature failure of friction clutches. In this work, different approaches were used to compute the surface temperatures of the friction clutch disc. The results presented the maximum surface temperature when the contact occurs between the rubbing surfaces during a single engagement and repeated engagements. Two approaches were used to simulate the thermal models of the automotive clutches to obtain the temperature field are heat partitioning approach and total heat generated approach. The analysis was conducted using developed axisymmetric finite element models to study the thermal behavior of the friction clutches during multi-engagements. The comparison was made between the temperature distributions based on the proposed approaches to show the accuracy of each approach. It was found that the heat partitioning approach was not accurate to investigate the thermal problem of the friction clutch during the multi-engagements. Read More...

Critical Study of Seismic Excitation Angle on a RC Frame Building
-Harsh Patel ; Manthan Patel; Jenish Patel; Omkar Chauhan; Raj Vaghela
As earthquakes are hazardous because of strong ground shaking, destroys things that people have constructed and also the epicentre where the greatest damage takes place is not known and due the scarcity of plain ground in hilly regions leads to construct buildings on a sloping ground. Compare to normal buildings, seismic behavior of buildings on a sloping ground are different. Building on a sloping ground has a higher base shear and higher displacement than building resting on a plain ground so for all the possible critical angle forces the response of the building should be determined. Thus we have under taken our final year project on the basis of Critical Study of Seismic Excitation Angle on A RC Frame Building. In our project a G+5 storey building, study has been made about the effect of slope angle variation on a RC frame building which is resting on a flat ground& sloping ground. The values of different degrees have been used for slope angle variation for obtaining critical response of the building which is situated in Zone V. The parametric study is performed to find out axial forces, bending moment, storey drift and displacement in columns and the maximum axial forces, bending moment, storey drift and displacement occurred is called as the critical angle. The seismic analysis is performed as per Equivalent Static Force Method. Read More...

Investigation on The Effect of Filling Ratio on The Steady State Heat Transfer Performance of A Vertical Two Phase Closed Thermosyphon.
-Seema Ravi Lahane ; Mosin Khan
Filling ratio of the working fluid has a predominant effect on the heat transfer characteristics of a two-phase closed thermosyphon (TPCT). A comprehensive model is developed to investigate the effect of filling ratio on the steady-state heat transfer performance of a vertical TPCT. Three types of flow pattern and two types of transition, according to the distribution of liquid film and liquid pool, are considered in this model, while other models generally focus on only one or two types of them. The total heat transfer rate of liquid pool, including those of natural convection and nucleate boiling, is calculated by combination of their effective areas and heat transfer coefficients. New correlations of the effective area are proposed based on the experimental results from other study. Two different geometries of the TPCT with nitrogen as working fluid are performed experimentally, and the evaporator temperatures accord well with the theoretical calculation. And the calculated results are compared with those by other empirical heat transfer correlations for liquid pool. The range of filling ratio, which can keep a TPCT steady and effective, is proposed based on analysis and comparison. The effects of heat input, operating pressure and geometries of the TPCT on the range are also discussed. Read More...
