Sanitization Tunnel Using Silver Ion Technology
-Mayank Srivastava ; Bhavik Jain; Sahil Garg; Saurabh Chhabra
This paper illustrates the mechanism and importance of a fully automatic disinfection tunnel to decontaminate the external surfaces of the human body like clothes and visible body parts to protect the human body from the COVID-19 virus. These tunnels require less space and are stationed at the entrance of crowded places like airports, shops, offices, schools, hospitals, shopping malls etc. To make the tunnel highly effective against the COVID-19 virus, a two-step disinfection process has been proposed which is not only safe for the human body (unlike using chemicals like sodium hypochlorite solution which causes skin & eyes irritation) but is also cost effective. When a person enters the Chamber 1 of the tunnel, he/she gets exposed to “far-UVC radiations†of wavelength 207-222 nm. In this step the surface disinfection takes place. Once the person enters chamber 2, the fumigation of the disinfectant solution starts. This solution is a dilute mixture of “Silver Ions†and water. Both far-UVC radiations and Silver ion technology are highly effective against the COVID-19 virus and are emerging as reliable source of disinfecting agent replacing the chemicals like sodium hypochlorite which are harmful to both humans & the environment. This study will give the user an insight of both the technologies- far-UVC & Silver ion as well as play an essential role in design and mechanism of the safe disinfecting tunnel and will help in playing an important role in stopping the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as other future pandemics. In this paper, discrete design optimization of a cantilever retaining wall has been submitted associated with a detailed parametric study of the wall without surcharge. In optimal design, the wall base width and heel to toe ratio are treated as the objective function. Through design algorithm, the optimal design variables (base width, toe width, thickness of base slab and thickness of heel) yielded minimum structural weight of the wall and satisfied stability conditions have been determined for different heights. At the end, a detail parametric study searching the effect of change of soil parameters on the retaining wall design has been conducted with 3 heights for different values of percentage distribution of base width ; constant values of the angle of internal friction( Φ=30), and three values of wall heights. The obtained results from optimization analyses indicate that change of the percentage of distribution base width from 50-75 % most of the parameter are satisfied at 50% of percentage distribution are observed to be safe. Plastic was invented by Alexander Parkes in 1860. Plastics have become a crucible part in today’s world. Due to their light weight, durability, design flexibility, they are excessively used in industry as well as household and other fields. The demand for plastic is increasing day by day which now pose a tremendous threat to the environment. The study focus on the design and fabrication of machine to convert plastic into oil as an effort in finding environment-friendly means of waste recycling by means of pyrolysis. The waste plastics are subjected to depolymerisation, pyrolysis, catalytic cracking and fractional distillation to obtain different value added fuels such as petrol, kerosene, and diesel. Pyrolysis process becomes an option of waste-to-energy technology to deliver bio-fuel to replace fossil fuel. The advantage of the pyrolysis process is its ability to handle unsort and dirty plastic. The pre-treatment of the material is easy. Plastic is needed to be sorted and dried. Pyrolysis is also nontoxic or non-environmental harmful emission unlike incineration. In this investigation, plastic waste (poly propylene) are utilized for pyrolysis to get fuel oil that has comparable physical properties as the energizes like petroleum, diesel and so on Converting waste plastics into fuel hold great promise for both the environmental and economic scenarios. -Atharv Jitendra Madwanna ; Pratik Anilkumar Nandane; Raj Gajanan Sawant; Ayan Abubakar Shaikh; Rahul Mukund Devtale
Autoclaved Aerated Concrete (AAC) is a lightweight concrete building material cut into masonry blocks or formed larger planks and panels. Aerated concrete is relatively homogeneous when compared to normal concrete, as it does not contain coarse aggregate phase, yet shows vast variation in its properties. The properties of aerated concrete depend on its microstructure (void± paste system) and composition, which are influenced by the type of binder used, methods of pore- formation and curing. Although aerated concrete was initially envisaged as a good insulation material, there has been renewed interest in its structural characteristics in view of its lighter weight, savings in material and potential for large scale utilization of wastes like pulverized fuel ash. Many researchers have been done in the last few years however a deeper understanding is still needed to improve the quality of autoclaved aerated block in the construction industry by studying the current market behavior. The aim of this study is to get the latest information and to identify the key factors that affect on autoclaved aerated block. Reconstruction of Brain MRI Images
-Anagha A ; Aruna B
The field of medical visualization of organs are needed for accurate diagnosis and treatment of any disease. Brain tumour diagnosis and surgery also requires accurate 3D visualization of the brain. Detection and 3D visualization of the brain and possibly tumours from MRI is a computationally time consuming and error-prone task. The proposed system presents a 3D reconstruction model of the brain which greatly helps the radiologist to effectively diagnose and analyze brain. If the subject is in motion state or there occurs a movement while taking the scan, there might be distortions in the output scan image. In order to avoid such circumstances it is better to reconstruct the 2D image into a 3D space as it is more effective. Thus the quality of the scan image is much better. More than 200 images were used for the training and around 150 images were used for testing. Here the 2D image slices are undergone image pre-processing, image registration, and then reconstruction. For the image registration, the method used is discrete wavelet transform which is more suitable for medical imaging. The proposed system is applicable for the clinical practices. Read More...
