Abstract

Artificial neural networks (ANNs) are being applied to an increasing number of real-world problems of considerable complexity. ANN represents a technology that is rooted in many disciplines: neuroscience, mathematics, statistics, physics, computer science and engineering. This Paper is an effort to highlight the scope for using artificial neural networks (ANNs) in the branch of environmental engineering. This paper tries to give basic concept of ANNs, general approach for neural network modelling and presents the study of development of neural network prediction models using neural network software.
