Abstract |
|
The protection of sensitive load against overload current is a concern for the Power System. Overload protection is against a running overcurrent that would cause overheating of the protected equipment. So, overload is also type of overcurrent. Overload protection typically operates on an inverse time curve where tripping time is less as current value increases. When these overload current passes through the component which create excessive heat, which can be damage or burn the equipment. Unbalance loads, overload of power system equipment, short circuit or failure of device are the reason of transient or overload current. So, protection devices were introduced to control the excessive amount of overload current. |
