Abstract

Out of the available approaches for optimal path finding in vehicle navigation, this paper highlights the superiority of the Haversine formula over the A* algorithm and Ant Colony Optimization (ACO). By accurately calculating distances on the Earth's curved surface, the Haversine formula surpasses traditional methods. Integrated with fuzzy logic and improved ACO algorithms, it facilitates the determination of optimal paths for vehicle navigation. The incorporation of Earth's curvature in the Haversine formula (HF) ensures precise distance estimations, making it the preferred choice. This approach considers both minimum travel distance and time, making it well-suited for dynamic path planning for unmanned vehicles.
